TLSAE (Drug & Alcohol Course)

In order to obtain a Florida Learner’s Permit, adult residents (18+) must complete an approved 4-Hour TLSAE (Drug & Alcohol Course). This online course allows you to meet this TLSAE requirement virtually, at your own pace.

Important: Effective 01 August 2025, all teenagers (15-17) are exempt from taking a TLSAE course. Instead, teens must complete a department-approved high school driver education course or an approved 6-Hour Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) Course.
